Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to every order placed with Essex Fireworks online, by phone or in store. Please read them before you buy. By placing an order you confirm you accept them.
About us
Essex Fireworks is an independent fireworks retailer with stores in Rayleigh (Next to Brookside Cafe, London Road, Rayleigh, Essex, SS6 9ES) and Chelmsford (Wheelers Farm, Little Waltham, Chelmsford, CM3 3LZ).

Age restriction
It is illegal to sell fireworks to anyone under 18. By placing an order you confirm that you are 18 or over.
Photo ID (a driving licence or passport) must be shown on delivery and at collection. If ID can’t be shown, or the person receiving the order appears to be under 18, we will not hand over the goods and the order will be cancelled.
Orders and prices
All prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT. RRPs shown are the manufacturer’s recommended retail price.
Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we email to confirm your order has been dispatched or is ready to collect.
We may refuse or cancel an order if an item is out of stock, if a pricing error has been made, or if we cannot verify your age. If we cancel, you will receive a full refund.
Payment
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Klarna. Payment is taken when you place your order.
Klarna payments are provided by Klarna and are subject to their own terms and credit checks.
Delivery
We deliver to UK mainland addresses using a courier licensed to carry fireworks. Delivery takes 2–3 working days from dispatch.
Delivery costs £9.95 on orders under £150 and is free on orders of £150 or more. Orders placed before 2pm on a working day are normally dispatched the same day.
Fireworks cannot be left unattended or with a neighbour. If nobody is available, the courier will attempt delivery again on the next working day.
We cannot currently deliver to Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and Islands, or offshore addresses.
Collection
Collection from either store is free. We will text you when your order is ready, usually within a few hours during opening times.
Orders not collected within 14 days may be cancelled and refunded.
Cancellations and returns
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you can cancel an online order within 14 days of receiving it. Items must be unopened and in their original condition.
For safety reasons, fireworks cannot be returned by post or courier. Returns must be brought to either store with your order number.
Refunds are made to the original payment method within 14 days of the return being received.
Faulty goods
If a product is faulty, contact us within 30 days with your order number and, if possible, a photo or video of the fault. Do not attempt to relight a firework that has failed.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.
Safe and legal use
You are responsible for using fireworks safely and lawfully, following the instructions on each product and the firework code.
In England, fireworks must not be set off between 11pm and 7am, except on Bonfire Night (until midnight) and on New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year (until 1am).
Liability
We are not liable for loss or damage caused by misuse of our products or failure to follow the instructions or safety guidance.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
